I had never heard a bad review about Costa Rica, and now I know why. I just spent 32 days in the diverse little country sandwiched between Nicargua and Panama in Central America. I was there for my corporate travel job, and made my home on a resort full of dinosaur-sized iguanas, howler monkeys, and incredibly welcoming Spanish-speaking locals. The trip was a good “first taste” of Costa Rica, since I experienced a lot in that amount of time, including ziplining and a wildlife boat tour, but there is so much more to do and see outside of the Guanacaste region I stayed in. I am looking forward to my next trip back there, since the volcanos and rainforests are calling my name. Here are some watercolor sketches I was able to complete in my hotel room since my easel broke early in the trip.
