QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“To exist is to change, to change is to mature, to mature is to go on creating oneself endlessly.”
– Henri Bergson
To those I haven’t talked to in a few weeks, Happy New Year! As usual, every time I write a new post I’m shocked at how quickly time flies by, and January is already halfway over. It has been a whirlwind few weeks beginning with Christmas and New Years and just finishing up celebrating my big sister’s 30th birthday. Needless to say I couldn’t be more enthusiastic and inspired to tackle 2013 and make some big strides with my artwork. On that note…
I have very exciting news that I’ve had three paintings accepted into an upcoming show titled “33January” at the Old Orchard Gallery in Webster Groves. As the name implies it will feature 33 local artists from this Friday, January 18 until Monday, February 4. If you are free Friday night feel free to stop by the gallery between 5:30 and 10 pm for free art, music, drinks, and food. Here is a link to the organization hosting the show and address of the gallery: http://www.myslart.org/events/33january.
The featured artwork for this month are the two paintings I did for my sister’s birthday. She’s been dropping subtle hints for years about liking some prints of mine, so I decided to surprise her even more with custom originals.
Acrylic on canvas, 14×18 inches
Watercolor on canvas, 24×12 inches
I hope your new year is off to a great start and I look forward to seeing some of you Friday night!
