QUOTE OF THE WEEK
“A painting is a thing that requires as much knavery, as much malice, as much vice as the perpetration of a crime.”
– Edgar Degas
It’s official, my show reception at Soulard Coffee Garden has been scheduled for Sunday, October 28 from 2:30-4 pm. There will be some complimentary wine and a cash bar, and I’ll check to see if they have Bloody Marys for those of you recovering from a Halloween celebration the night before. I’ll continue to send out weekly reminders, and here is a map and the cafe’s website. No obligation to RSVP, but feel free to let me know if you plan on coming, and you’re more than welcome to bring friends. There will be an invite through Facebook as well.
For you sports fans, the Rams (and Steelers) have noon games that Sunday, and there will also be Game 4 of the World Series. Let’s all hope we still have a reason to watch!
I knocked out four wine bottles in the past week, and here is the most colorful of the bunch. The couple’s last name is “Hope” and my client gave me free reign to get creative. The last name is so cool I wanted to really make it the focal point, and chose the slant because it is still mostly visible from one angle, and is more interesting than vertical or horizontal. The round polka dots complement the hard edges of the brushstrokes, and I varied the colors here and there to break up the monotony. The brand of wine is Olivier Hillaire, so I just emphasized the “H” already on the label.
