Many of you know I was hired to paint live at the Cardinals World Series Gala back in October, and at the time there was talk of the four plexiglas paintings being auctioned off by the team’s charity. After months of following up, the production company and I never got an answer about the auction or what the Cardinals did with the paintings. Then, just a few weeks ago, a friend of mine was leaving the stadium through a side entrance for the press and VIPs and saw two of the paintings hanging in the lobby! The mystery was finally over and I was able to go down to the stadium this past Thursday to get some photos of my long lost art. The team took care of the black framing which looks incredible. I still need to speak to the woman that will know exactly how they ended up in the lobby (she was out of town), and will hopefully have the opportunity to do more work in the future!

In other big news from last week, I am very excited to announce that I’ll be one of about 40 artists participating in the Taste of St. Louis Art & Wine Walk the last weekend of September! The event is always scheduled to coincide with the Cardinals’ last 3 home games of the season, and they’re expecting around 350,000 people over the three days. Since most of my work is commissions and I don’t carry much inventory, this is essentially another show for me and will require a bunch of new originals and prints. Other than having a tent and booth in front of so many people, the big highlight is my hand-painted wine bottles are going to be given as the artist awards instead of the traditional ribbon. Here’s the link to the website where you’ll see my bottles featured: http://tastestl.com/The-Art-Wine-Walk.
In addition, the flyer below will be printed and distributed to 10,000 people . If you’ll be in town September 28-30 you should definitely stop by to see my new work as well as the other participating artists. Oh, and they’ll be some food there too 🙂 Admission to Taste is free and you just buy food and drink tickets once you arrive. (Don’t forget to scroll all the way down for the Quote of the Week)
