2024 Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Guide and Upcoming Art Show

Every once in a while my art leads to a “pinch me” moment, and that has happened a few times in the past week. Ten months ago, the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce approached me about creating an original painting for the cover of its 2024 guidebook. The publication is mailed to every residence and business in Palm Beach and is placed in all 534 rooms of the world-renowned Breakers Hotel.

The collaboration was a closely held secret until the exclusive unveiling of the painting on January 4 at The Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach. It was a magical evening attended by the Chamber’s board, trustees, community leaders, and my biggest supporters from the day I moved to South Florida. You know it’s a good night when your face hurts from smiling so much!

The following Monday morning, while still on cloud nine, I stood on stage at the Breakers Hotel and presented the painting to 500 attendees of the monthly Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce breakfast. I told the story of how I knew nothing about Palm Beach until my former job in corporate events sent me to the Breakers in March 2017. I never could have imagined that about four years later I’d be moving here, and then a few years after that have my artwork in every single room of the hotel.

This video played at the breakfast and tells my story of moving to Palm Beach and the inspiration behind the painting.

The Chamber guide cover is a tough act to follow, but the show must go on, literally. I am excited to announce my next group show is opening on January 19 at Studio 1608 in West Palm Beach. It is called “The New & The Known” and is curated by Maison Palmer. The exhibition includes the work of established and emerging artists in the community and explores the notion that an artist considered to be “known” by most could be new to someone else, and vice versa.

I am debuting the next painting in my James Bond series, adorned with my trademark glossy spot varnish and black glitter. It is a must-see in person! Below is the invitation and I will share the entire painting in my next newsletter.

Thank you so much for all of your support and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
